THE SCRIPTURES
We believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible authoritative Word of God. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12-13; Hebrews 4:12
THE TRINITY
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. These are equal in every divine perfection and execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Mark 12:29; Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 43:10-11.
GOD, THE FATHER
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. Isaiah 48:12; Ps. 95:3,6; Is. 40:21-26; Ps. 139:1-12; Jn. 7:37,38
JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return for His church and with His church in power and glory. Philippians 2:6; Hebrews 1:8; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:20; Romans 3:25; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; John 20:31.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, the third Person of the Trinity. In the present age He convicts of sin, of judgment, and of righteousness, He bears witness to the truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony, He is the agent in the new birth, indwells all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, baptizes them into the body of Christ, and seals them unto the day of redemption. Every believer is commanded by God to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and He bestows gifts as He wills. Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 5:18-20; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.
SALVATION
We believe in the depravity of man, that all men are sinners by nature and by choice and are therefore separated from God and in need of salvation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and believe in Jesus Christ as Savior are saved. John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 10:9, Ephesans 2:1-9
SANCTIFICATION
We believe that all believers are indwelt with the person of the Holy Spirit at the time of regeneration, given every spiritual blessing, all things pertaining to life and godliness, and empowered with the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit , drawing upon the resources available through the resurrected Christ, to the end that our lives increasingly manifest the very life, character, and power of Christ. Acts 2:38, 2 Peter 1:3, Ephesians 1:3, Ephesians 2:1-6, 2 Corinthians 3:16, Romans 12:1-3, Galatians 2:20.
THE CHURCH
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ who have a credible profession of faith, and have associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that the calling of the church is to be the very presence of Christ in the midst of the world, standing as a testimony of His life and character. We believe that the testimony of Christ’s life is seen most fully in the corporate expression of His life that is the church, and that when God calls people unto life with Himself He necessarily calls them into fellowship with other believers as well. Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 5:25-27; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14.
THE ORDINANCES
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: water baptism and the Lord's supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that baptism signifies and symbolizes Christian life begun. We believe that the Lord's supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death and signifies Christian life continued. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4.
THE LAST THINGS
We believe the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal blessedness of those made righteous in and through Christ, and the endless suffering of the wicked. Mark 9:43-48; John 5:28-29; John 11:25-26; Revelation 20:5-15.

F.A.Q.
Welcome to our FAQ!
Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about
Calvary Chapel Manchester.
Q. When are your service times, and what makes each service different?
We have two services on Sunday morning, and each is conducted in a different language.

-
Our English service begins at 10:00 AM and goes until 11:15 AM. This service includes contemporary worship songs led by an intergenerational worship team, verse-by-verse expository Bible teaching, the observance of The Lord's Table (communion) and corporate prayer. Pastor Jared teaches from the ESV Bible translation. The service is followed by an invitation for an extended time of fellowship and light refreshments in our fellowship hall.
-
Our French service begins at 11:30 AM and goes until 1:00 PM. This service is conducted in the modern African style and includes classic and contemporary French worship songs led by an intergenerational worship team, verse-by-verse Bible teaching in French, the observance of the Lord's table (communion) and corporate prayer. Pastor Dieudonne teaches from the Louis Segond Bible translation.

You can see our service times on our Gather page. See All Service Times
You can watch our previous live-streamed services on our Youtube channel. View A Service
Q. What is the style of worship like?
Both services have modern contemporary worship teams that lead the congregation in corporate worship with guitars, piano, synthesizers, and drums, depending on who is available to serve on the worship team that Sunday. The songs range from classic to brand new, and occasionally include a classic or modernized hymn. We endeavor to encourage and facilitate congregational singing by managing the volume at an appropriate level, presenting lyrics on our screen, and choosing Biblically-sound songs that are singable and God-honoring. We believe that our services should be conducted decently and in order (i.e. 1 Corinthians 14:40) while also encouraging expressions of celebration, honor, and devotion that are appropriate for worship (i.e. Psalm 134:2).
Q. Will anyone be available to pray with me?
Yes! Pray is a vital part of our relationship with God, both individually and corporately. There is an opportunity after each service to meet together and pray for each other.
Q. Do you have a children's ministry?
Currently, as of this writing, we do not have a specialized children's ministry. The children who do attend our church are with us during our corporate worship and Bible teaching. During the French service, only nursery is offered for children pre-k and younger.

We are hopeful that we will be able to offer a specialized children's ministry in the future and are working toward that end. We will update this FAQ with developments.
Q. Do you meet at any other times during the week?
Yes! We have a midweek meeting for each community.
Our English community has a home fellowship Bible study on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM.

Our French community meets for a time of worship and intercessory prayer on Wednesday at the church from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

You can find more info on our small groups and weekly services on our Gather page. See All Groups
Q. Are you going to ask me for money?
The short answer is, "no."

We are a church that exists by the grace of God and believe that He is able to sustain our ministry as He apportions. If anything, we will make ourselves available to help with any needs that we can, or help with connections to organizations that can assist if necessary. We spend more time talking about giving as the church than giving to the church.

Having said that, we recognize that the early church desired to give in order to support the ministry of the gospel along with the establishment and operation of the church. Many believers came from Judaism, which followed the Mosaic law and the system that God had established for tithes and offerings that supported the Levitical priesthood in their priestly duties. Upon coming to faith in Jesus Christ, new believers also gave to support the apostles and the churches forming in other areas where the gospel was being preached. Giving, according to Peter, was something that was done willingly, not out of compulsion (1 Peter 5:2).

With that in mind, we facilitate the desire of believers who want to honor God with their finances and support the operation of the church and its continued ministry service through physical offerings and online giving.
Our two services handle giving in different ways based on cultural norms.

-
During our English service, we do not pass a plate or basket, and there is no call for an offering. Instead, we have a small offering box at the back of the church sanctuary with envelopes for those who would like to contribute with cash or checks. We also have a system for online giving, SimpleGive, for giving through a card or bank account. Information on setting up a giving account is available on our Give page.
-
During the French service, there is an offering box that is placed at the front of the sanctuary, and there is a portion of the worship service set aside so that people can bring their offerings to the front and place them in the box. Online giving is also available for the French service.

Q. Is the church accessible and open to someone with a handicap or disability?
Yes, as best as we are able.
We currently have several regular attendees that have a handicap or disability, and our church community has shown themselves to be welcoming, accommodating, and supportive.

Our church building has two floors connected internally by stairs. Our sanctuary is on the top floor and can be accessed from the outside via a street-side walkway that leads to a wheelchair access ramp. Our first floor has two sections at slightly different levels, but also has a small ramp that connects the two sections on the inside, and can be accessed from the outside through our ground level fellowship hall entrance, which has no stairs.

Both pastors have experience in serving the needs of children and adults with disabilities, both vocationally and with para-church ministries. Pastor Jared has served with Joni and Friends New England, a para-church ministry devoted to the inclusion and support of people with disabilities and their families, and Pastor Dieudonne works bi-vocationally in resident services at Crotched Mountain, an assisted living care center for adults with disabilities.
